Birding Trip Reports and Reflective Spaces

Employing a feeble pun, this website’s name is inspired by the Fire-tailed Myzornis. With a stunning appearance that is only rivalled by its exotic-sounding name, this species to me symbolises the search for birds and other natural history in places around the world.

On this website, I mainly post my birding trip reports of such outings. Naturally, I focus on the birds I recorded, but I also mention other wildlife and information on access, accommodation, and other relevant information of birding sites. As trip reports by other birders are always immensely helpful for me when planning my own trips, I hope this allows me to ‘give back’ to the birding community.

For sites that I have visited frequently, I am in the process of writing detailed descriptions on infrastructure including access, accommodation, any entrance fees, etc. as well as detailed maps on where to find which species.

I am also happy to provide more detailed information on any of the sites, including connecting you with local guides, allowing them to benefit as well – feel free to reach out to me!
